- Tipu continued the war following his father's death
- The war ended with the signing of the Treaty of Mangalore (11th March 1784), which restored the status quo ante bellum (the situation as it existed before the war)
- Third Anglo-Mysore War (1790 – 1792)
- The third Anglo- Mysore War was fought between Tipu Sultan and the then Governor-General of Bengal Lord Cornwallis
- The war ended with the signing of Treaty of Seringapatam (1792)
- The Fourth Anglo-Mysore War (1798 – 1799)
- Lord Wellesley was the Governor-General of India during this time
- Tipu Sultan was killed in the battle
- Battle of Seringapatanam (1799)
